Still do not know what these sports routines are? Did not know that you could practice Crossfit or Bootcamp in Mallorca? In Body and Mind Mallorca, we explain the benefits of each of these trainings and we also tell you which one we keep. So keep reading and sign up for the fashion exercise.
Benefits of Crossfit
Although Crossfit was born in the United States, in recent years it has spread like wildfire to the rest of the globe. This is due to the fact that this sports routine bases its exercises on movements that we perform daily and practically without realizing it, such as jumping, lifting or pushing a thing.
Crossfit is, in short, a type of functional training that is performed at high intensity and where endurance, physical strength, flexibility, power and balance are put to the test – all in one workout!
It is a very complete activity, as it works in a variety of the ten main physical areas: agility, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, power, precision, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular endurance and speed. Moreover, it is far from being the typical workout you can do in a gym, because you don’t concentrate your practice on a particular muscle or muscle group, but on several areas at once, as it is a combined sports routine.
Although the Crossfit is based on specialized training for elite bodies, such as firefighters or military, one of the great advantages of this sport is that it is suitable for any person and for any age. Because the exercises are adapted to each person according to their abilities and the objective to achieve.
Benefits of the Bootcamp
Bootcamp’s simplest definition is “military training for civilians”. Cool what? Bootcamp is a discipline inspired by military training that has been adapted to improve fitness or lose weight. And, it’s not surprising that this benchmark practice has been taken, since the military are the most disciplined people in the world. And if what we need is to lose weight or get in shape, but we’re a bit lazy or it’s hard to follow an exercise routine, there’s nothing better than Boot Camps. They are military sports camps that have been adapted for civilian training to improve physical preparation in a short time. Your philosophy? Take orders, do your best and work hard.
And the truth is that in Body and Mind training, we share this same philosophy, because “without suffering there is no reward”. Because working hard and being constant is how we will get that healthy and toned body so desired.
Like the Crossfit, this sports routine has been gaining more followers over time. Some magazines describe it as “the best training for celebrities”. And is that the Bootcamp has fallen in love and hooked celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Victoria Beckham who do not hesitate to share their advances in social networks.
The BootCamp training circuit takes place outdoors, enjoying nature and the good climate and temperature that we have in Mallorca. You can train alone or accompanied, you know that group routines are more effective, because you interact with other people and you feel the motivation of your personal trainer. However, it is not a sport suitable for everyone. Although anyone could try this discipline, the BootCamp is only recommended for people with certain sporting skills and abilities.
Differences between Crossfit and Bootcamp
Although at first glance, the Crossfit and Bootcamp may seem similar training, the truth is that they are quite different sports routines.
The Crossfit is a training that is usually performed in a gym or training room where you work in a variety of agility, balance, coordination, flexibility, power, strength … but always following the same routine.
The Bootcamp is a much more dynamic workout that we do outdoors. In fact, we find that more and more gyms and sports halls in Spain include the BootCamp within their directed classes, because they attract many athletes who are demotivated by conventional sports routines. Therefore, it is not surprising that it has become one of the most sought-after disciplines.
During these sessions, bars, ropes, tractor wheels, rhythm changes are used… It’s impossible to get bored! In addition, it will become your perfect de-stresser, because with such a dynamic activity you eliminate tension and release stress. What is clear is that in the Bootcamp you sweat the fat drop and burn a lot of calories, because we activate the metabolism in such a way that even at rest we burn calories!
Moreover, unlike Crossfit, with the Bootcam you reaffirm your muscles, but you don’t overdevelop them. Your body looks more toned and defined, but you don’t increase muscle mass.
I’m sure you’ve already been bitten by the worm and curiosity and you want to try out this complete workout. Don’t know where to practice Bootcamp on Mallorca? At Body and Mind Mallorca, we put ourselves to the test every Saturday with this exercise program. With a personal training circuit, all our athletes test their physical limits. The best? That this BootCamp is totally public and anyone can participate without prior appointment. However, don’t forget to bring comfortable, lightweight clothing and appropriate sports footwear, as well as plenty of water.
Still not convinced? Try it yourself and decide, but you’ll see that in the end you’ll join the BootCampers team.
